Dear Living Room at Nighttime

Dear My Living Room at Nighttime

I'm alone now. You're normally so exposing, so open. In the day, your large windows look out into the lively outdoors and you let in the bright and revealing sunlight, and if someone wanted to, they could even look in through them. Your stairs and doorways are open to anyone else who wants to use them. At any moment my roommates could walk right through here. They could strike up a conversation. They could ask for a favor. They could simply just BE there. But right now, it's just me. It's quiet.
